Eligibility criteria for B.PT course

A pass in the 12th std. or equivalent examination approved by the Nitte University securing not less than 40% marks in aggregate in the optional subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and English as one of the languages of study.

Candidates who have passed with less than 40% in PUC or equivalent examination but have completed a 2/3 yr diploma course in Physiotherapy from a recognised State Board/University and have secured more than 50% marks are eligible to be admitted to I B.PT course.

The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission.

Admission of NRIs and Foreign nationals are also considered. Their admission will be based on inter-se merit subject to the minimum qualifying marks in the core subjects.

Admission under General Merit category

The admission under the General merit category will be through the process of centralised single window counseling on the basis of merit(rank) obtained in the All India Entrance Test, NU UGET which is conducted by Nitte University.

Application forms are available at the University office at Mangalore. The same can also be downloaded from the website www.nitte.edu.in .The duly filled-in application form should be forwarded along with the photocopies of documents listed below:

  • 10th Std. Marks card/Pass certificate(for proof of date of birth)
  • 10+2 Marks card
  • Transfer certificate from the institution last attended
  • Passport and student visa
  • Passport and Employer”s certificate as proof of NRI status (if the candidate has studied in India)
  • A demand draft for Rs.500/- favoring Nitte University payable at Mangalore

Intake & Duration

Intake: 60

Duration: 4 ½ yrs (including 6 months rotatory internship)

Commencement of course

The course commences as per the date prescribed by the University, most likely during September 2010. The exact date will be communicated by the Institution.

List of documents to be produced at the time of admission

1. 10th Std./SSLC pass certificate for proof of date of birth – Original + 3 attested copies
2. 12th Std. Or equivalent marks card/pass certificate – Original + 3 attested copies.
In case of diploma holder, diploma marks cards/certificate will have to be produced.
3. Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended – Original + 3 attested copies
4. Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended – Original only
5. Eligibility Certificate issued by the Registrar, Nitte University
6. Migration Certificate from the Board of the institution last attended
7. Physical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner
8. Blood group certificate
9. Photographs: Passport size 05, Stamp size 05

Additional documents to be produced for NRIs only

1. Valid passport and student visa for the period of study. (Original must be shown for verification.Duly-attested photocopies must be produced.)
2. Proof of employment of the parent abroad – Original
3. Attested photocopy of the passport of the parent (if the student has studied in India)

Additional documents to be produced for Foreign nationals only

1. Valid passport and student visa for the period of study. (Original must be shown for verification. Duly-attested photocopies must be produced.)
2. Letter of sponsorship if applicable – Original + 5 copies
3. Residential permit from the local SP and FRO
4. No objection certificate issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India

These will be processed once the student reports at the University/Institution.
