Courses PG
NICO offers a clutch of PG programs that enable students to specialize for media, communication and allied industries. With this, the University is set to be amongst the most popular destinations for media studies in Southern India. Combining hands-on communication practice coupled with essential theoretical knowledge, NICO aims to facilitate the growth of a vibrant group of young professionals ready to take on the challenges in the media industry in our democracy.

Today, as a new network society gains foothold, conventional media are converging in haste. These changes are beginning to have a tremendous impact on the nature and scope of media and society alike.
Given the challenges presented by the new age, the university expanded into the wide-spectrum communication education with matching programs, curriculum and laboratories.

NICO is equipped with a state-of-the-art Broadcast Studio, Print Design, TV Editing & Web Design labs, expansive library, wi-fi campus and fully-digital facilities for professional education & research in the area of communication and journalism. The curriculum is fully in tune with the needs of a student who wishes to be knowledgeable enough to contribute meaningfully to the modern media industry and the society at large.
Objective To create a new class of media professionals by blending theory and practice with a keen sense of social responsibility, belief in welfare for all and a deeply reflective understanding of India, its masses and its media industry.

PG Program Curriculam
Communication as a discipline is an amalgam of sociology, psychology, history, geography, economics, political science, anthropology, languages, philosophy, religion, visual and performing arts, including music. These have continued to remain at the core of communication theory and research making it strongly interdisciplinary in nature. In turn, the products designed and executed by communication professionals are also determined by the country’s social, cultural, economic, geographical, technological, political and regulatory environment.

The curriculum of Nitte University’s two-year, four-semester M.A. Programs is therefore a judicious mix of communication theory and skills together with humanities & social science components that shape a new breed of competent communication professionals who have the necessary depth to operate in the present and in the future.
